The vital work of the IMPACT Centre has been featured in a national newspaper article by The Guardian. This coverage highlights our commitment to revolutionising car wreck rescue techniques and underscores the importance of evidence-based approaches in post-collision care.
A Day with Linda Geddes
We had the pleasure of spending a day with Linda Geddes and introducing her to the innovative research and practices led by the IMPACT team.
Linda’s experience with us was documented in a compelling article where she explores the need for updated car wreck rescue techniques in light of new evidence.
During her visit, Linda participated in a simulated car crash to gain firsthand experience of entrapment and extrication. This immersive experience allowed her to understand the physical and psychological challenges faced by crash victims. Linda’s reflections on this experience are captured in her engaging podcast, which we highly recommend listening to.
The Importance of Patient Experience in Early Post-Collision Care
At IMPACT, we believe that patient experience is a cornerstone of effective post-collision care. Understanding the perspectives and needs of patients who have endured traumatic events is essential for delivering responsive and compassionate patient centred care. Our research emphasises the importance of integrating patient feedback into every stage of care.
To learn more about our work on patient experience, we invite you to explore our publication in BMJ Open. This study provides valuable insights into the experiences of trapped, injured patients and is helpful in guiding our practice towards patient centred care.
We are committed to advancing the field of post-collision care through rigorous research, innovative techniques, and a patient-centred approach. As we continue to explore new frontiers in post-collision care, we look forward to sharing our progress and findings with the wider community.
