At IMPACT, we are committed to advancing the quality of care for individuals affected by road injury through cutting-edge research, innovation and translation. There are several ways you can contribute to our mission, each offering unique opportunities for involvement and impact.
As an Ambassador, you will play a crucial role in translating our research findings into clinical and operational practices. This position involves access to specialised training and mentorship programs that equip you with the necessary skills to interpret and implement our latest research. Ambassadors will explore the implications of our findings and collaborate with colleagues to integrate these insights into practical changes at the roadside.
IMPACT conducts research across every stage of post-collision care to strengthen knowledge and improve outcomes. We study emergency responses, professional training, bystander and public roles, and better ways to deliver care in the critical first moments—turning evidence into real changes in practice and policy. Grounded in local experience and international best practice, our work aims for safer roads, stronger responses, and better recovery. We welcome involvement from patients, witnesses and families, police, fire and rescue, paramedics, doctors and other healthcare professionals, highways staff, and policy makers—your insights help shape research that protects communities and saves lives.
Patient and Public Involvement Group
We understand that bereaved families and friends often seek meaningful ways to contribute to improving care for others. We offer opportunities for you to engage in discussions about our research and explore routes of involvement and support. This can include participating in advisory panels, sharing your experiences to guide our research priorities through our patient and public involvement group PPI@IMPACT, or supporting our initiatives through advocacy and fundraising. Your involvement helps ensure that our research is patient-centred and that our care practices are informed by those most affected.
We invite both junior and senior researchers to work alongside our research team. Whether you are just beginning your research career and looking for a research project [link to Research projects tab] or an experienced investigator looking for collaborations [link to collaborations tab], we value your ideas and contributions. Our centre offers comprehensive guidance, mentorship, and peer support to help you develop and execute impactful research projects related to post-collision care. Job vacancies will be listed here
Additionally, you are welcome to attend our monthly research collaboration forum to share ideas, receive feedback, and learn about ongoing projects.
