Tim is a consultant in Emergency Medicine and Prehospital Emergency Medicine based at Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust and Devon Air Ambulance. Tim has worked on extrication and post-collision research for the last decade and is the lead for the EXIT project and director at IMPACT. Tim welcomes collaboration, research and translation opportunities – if you have an idea or a project we might be able to help with then please get in touch.
Senior Research Coordinator
Lauren Rodgers is an experienced Medical Statistician working across academia and industry, with extensive expertise in study design and analysis as well as teaching and mentoring medics and junior researchers from a range of disciplines. She oversees the IMPACT Mentorship Programme and the Patient and Public Involvement Group. Lauren is always happy to discuss potential collaborations for pre-hospital care projects and will not resist a good “rabbit-hole” conversation about interesting data science ideas or statistical methods. She welcomes contact from members of the public, people working in pre-hospital care, researchers, and anyone interested in getting involved in our studies or the IMPACT Mentorship Programme.
Senior Research Fellow
Rob is a consultant nurse and RCEM credentialed advanced clinical practitioner. He is based in the emergency department at Wrexham Maelor Hospital in North Wales and is also a visiting professor at Wrexham University. Rob has been involved in the EXIT project since its inception and has a keen interest in evidence-based medicine and the ability to improve the outcomes for patients, relatives and staff.

Project Coordinator
Kerry has extensive experience across Higher Education and the NHS. She has worked in postgraduate medical education, non-academic research impact, and student success – delivering complex, multi-partner projects at international, national, and regional levels. Kerry holds an MBA and focuses on enabling effective collaboration, strategy delivery, project management and the practical application of research and policy.
Lead for Safeguarding and Ethical Practice
Nicola is a mental health nurse specialising in psychological trauma and traumatic bereavement. Nicola advises organisations across statutory, non-statutory, and corporate sectors, helping them embed trauma-informed and ethically grounded approaches to victim and family engagement. In 2023 Nicola was awarded a PhD in Politics and International Relations by Cardiff University for her research exploring the experiences of bereaved military families. She brings to the team an expertise in trauma informed qualitative research methodology in addition to her clinical background.
Research Project Administrator
Rebecca brings experience in research support, having held a range of research assistant roles prior to establishing herself as an independent environmental consultant. She has a strong interest in data science and is actively developing skills in programming, artificial intelligence and geospatial analysis.
Devon Air Ambulance: Joint Operations Director
Tania has extensive public sector and leadership experience, having worked for the Metropolitan Police for more than two decades in both regional and national roles. Tania is focussed on supporting the development and success of the IMPACT project and how this translates into Devon and more widely.
Devon Air Ambulance: Critical Care Paramedic & Research Paramedic
Nigel has responded to road traffic collisions for over two decades and is determined to support innovation in this area. Nigel is an advocate for collaborative working and is keen to draw upon others’ experience and expertise in pursuit of excellent practice.
Dr Francois-Xavier Ageron
Dr Francois-Xavier Ageron is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at the University Hospital of Lausanne, Switzerland. He first trained in emergency medicine in France and was involved in pre-hospital care and mountain search and rescue helicopter services in the Northern French Alps. He was Medical Director of the Northern French Alps Emergency Network and implemented the TRENAU Trauma System, leading research in trauma triage. After an MSc and PhD in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine with the CRASH-2 and CRASH-3 teams, his research moved to bleeding and coagulation in the injured patient. He joined the Emergency Department and Trauma Centre of the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) to lead research projects in emergency medicine and trauma.
