We are delighted to announce that one of our flagship initiatives, “The EXIT Project,” has been honoured with the prestigious 2022 Prince Michael Premier Award. This recognition is of critical importance to our work in enhancing post-collision care at IMPACT Centre.
The EXIT Project: An Evidence Based Approach to Extrication
The EXIT Project, short for “Extrication in Trauma,” is a pioneering effort aimed at transforming the approaches used to rescue individuals trapped in vehicles after serious collisions. Our research has shown that traditional extrication methods, while effective in some cases, often fail to account for the latest evidence on trauma care and patient outcomes. The EXIT Project seeks to bridge this gap by developing and implementing evidence-based protocols that prioritise both the safety and well-being of crash victims.
